Application and Use

Refrigerants transfer thermal energy (enthalpy) against temperature gradients. Their applications are as diverse as the refrigerants themselves — from household refrigerators to heat pumps.

Automotive Industry

Main application: Vehicle air conditioning systems

For environmental reasons, the European Union has mandated R1234yf as a replacement for refrigerant R134a. Since 2017, most newly manufactured vehicles use R1234yf.

Examples of brands: VW, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Peugeot, Renault, Fiat, etc.

Portable Air Conditioners & Modern Household Units

Although not yet widely used in this sector, R1234yf is increasingly applied in new devices due to its environmentally friendly properties.

Low GWP Systems

R1234yf has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of only 4 (compared to R134a, which has a GWP of approx. 1,430).
Therefore, it is preferred for environmentally conscious applications.

Containers purchased from us after February 28, 2024 may be returned for refilling purposes in accordance with Art. 11 (4) of Regulation (EU) 2024/573 using the enclosed return form.
